A Day in the Life of a Traffic Coordinator in the Logistics Team:
You will play a vital role in managing the flow of toys and games in the Distribution Center. Your objective is to greet carriers and direct them for their shipment pickup or delivery. You will process orders for picking and handle outbound delivery documentation. You will be an important contact for expedition of goods and delivery with customers. You will input accurate data regarding pallet standards, data around inbound and outbound deliveries, in order to generate pertinent statistics.
You would be replacing someone on a maternity leave for approximately 12 months. You will be working on site at our distribution center in Longueuil from Monday to Friday.
Under the supervision of the Logistics Manager, you will:
- Manage carriers who deliver or pick up orders, and carefully monitor the schedule log.
- Prepare accurate Bill of Ladings (BOL), packing slips, and pick lists.
- Generate outbound deliveries and keep track of shipments.
- Confirm deliveries in the SAP system.
- Review and plan the next day’s priorities and create shipments by reviewing priority listings and understanding regular business order cycle times.
- Manage estimating time and costs for clients, vendor invoicing and approve client billing for traffic and clearance.
- Be available to clients for questions, concerns, and follow-ups.
- Partner with the Order Administration team, the Warehouse Manager and Logistics to problem solve issues.
- Act as a key liaison with 3rd party warehouse vendors and carriers
- Assist in inventory audits and cycle counts.
What You'll Bring:
- High school diploma
- 2-4 years of experience in a similar role such as Traffic or Shipping Coordination, scheduling and managing logistics processes.
- Understanding of customs
- Proficient in MS Word and Outlook, knowledge of Excel is an asset
- Fluency in French written and spoken, ability to understand and converse in English since you will be exchanging with carriers outside of Quebec daily.
- Knowledge of SAP, an asset
- Ability to handle shifting priorities, retain composure while staying on course, even when there are several conflicting priorities.
- Capacity to deal with ambiguity and communicate difficult situations in a tactful and diplomatic manner
- Ability to work to deadlines with a strong sense of urgency without compromising the quality of work, seeking solutions to problems actively before being asked or directed.
