Supplier Quality Technologist (temporary six-month position)

Job description
Position Summary
Reporting to the Supplier Quality Engineer, the Supplier
Quality Technologist is responsible for managing data collection concerning
supplier quality performance, supporting non-conformance material management
through reporting activities or preparations of the non-conformance material to
be returned to suppliers and verifying parts received against customer
specifications to ensure product compliance.
This is a temporary, six-month position.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Work closely with manufacturing, quality control (QC) and suppliers to establish processes and procedures to ensure consistent high-quality components.
- Evaluate non-conformance reports and create Supplier Corrective Action Reports (“SCARs”).
- Responsible for tracking and follow up on SCARs.
- Ensure effective and efficient execution of the SCAR system.
- Responsible for managing and tracking RMAs to suppliers.
- Responsible for monitoring ECO and TD implementation on the supplier.
- Participate in CCB, RGB and NCR meetings to address supplier quality issues.
- Participate in the validation of alternative components.
- Collect data and track supplier performance.
- Support the PPAP implementation process.
- Document work in an organized manner.
- Other duties as required.
Work Experience and Qualifications
- Experience in charting, improving and streamlining processes.
- Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Measurement skills using inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometres, etc.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of Workmanship Standards including 5S principles
- Good computer skills: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Project management and continuous improvement experience would be considered an asset
Personal Qualifications
- Hands-on and detail-oriented approach to failure analysis and problem-solving.
- Ability and willingness to complete work on a fixed and demanding schedule and follow up on outstanding issues in a timely fashion.
Salary Range
$25.00 to $30.00 CDN per hour
