Job description

Are you a Red Seal or Journeyman Mechanic with a passion for heavy off-road equipment?
Are you a fully ticketed Heavy Equipment Technician who specializes in off-road earth equipment.

Our client is seeking a dedicated Heavy Duty Off-Road Mechanic to join their team. The ideal candidate will be a fully ticketed journeyman or red seal heavy equipment technician with expertise in repairing, rebuilding, and performing preventive maintenance on a variety of heavy equipment, including dozers, excavators, augers, front end loaders, and backhoes. Your primary responsibility will be ensuring the reliability and safety of Off-Road and mining / earth moving equipment.

If you bring a high level of expertise, a commitment to quality workmanship (and possess a Journeyman or Red Seal certification), we might have the next step in your career.
Dual ticket On-Road and Off-Road preferred, but a JM / Red Seal in Off-Road / Heavy Equipment Technician is mandatory.
This is for a day shift In-City job in Red Deer.

Responsibilities
What you'll be doing:

Inspect, repair, and adjust heavy off-road equipment, focusing on brands like Caterpillar, Volvo, Komatsu, and others.
Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliances, leading by example to maintain a safe work environment.
Diagnose and efficiently repair defects in heavy-duty equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
Perform mechanical repairs in the shop and respond to road calls, demonstrating flexibility and readiness to address on-site issues.
Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical and hydraulic issues in heavy-duty machinery.
Accurately complete work orders and timecards, maintaining precise records of work performed and time invested.

Qualifications
What you bring:

Red Seal or Journeyman Mechanic certification.
Minimum 3 years' experience as a Heavy Duty Off-Road Equipment Mechanic.
Commitment to safety and adherence to workplace safety policies. Ability to work independently in a busy environment
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills in electrical and hydraulic systems.
Proficiency in repairing engines, mechanical transmissions, drive-trains, and final drives.
Basic tooling up to and including ¾”
