Located right here in Chilliwack, IMW Industries supplies Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) fueling systems to over 50 countries in North and South America, China, Southeast Asia, and Africa; We manufacture machinery, fittings, components, and assemblies in our facility and our team works together to ensure that we produce high-quality products in a safe and professional environment;
SUMMARY:
We are seeking an enthusiastic, Journeyman / 3rd year Electrical Apprentice to join our Test Bay Technician team; The Test Bay Technician is responsible for the functional and final testing of our finished Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Compressor units and associated MCC panels by our applicable procedures;
In this position technicians will be responsible for installing, connecting, troubleshooting, and testing Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Compressors to site-specific standards;

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- In this position technicians will be responsible for installing, connecting, troubleshooting, and testing Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Compressors and associated equipment to site-specific standards.
- Follow all safety rules and test procedures.
- Proper usage and knowledge of all hand and power tools and precision measuring equipment.
- Read and interpret drawings, and schematics.
- Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
- Loading PLC programs via TIA Portal or SD cards.
- Troubleshoot, and repair industrial, electrical, and electronic control systems and other related devices.
- Any additional duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary by Test Bay Foreman.
- Ensure quality of work by showing an eye for detail.
- Ensure that time is properly tracked and allocated to each job.
- Maintain a safe work environment within the department and on each job.
- Responsible to identify areas for improvement, and the use of Nonconformance (NCR) reports.
- To be punctual and available for a minimum of 40 hours of work per week.
- Perform work by IMW documented policies and procedures.
- Complete all applicable quality records.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an electrician.
- Basic computer skills are required.
- Knowledge of gaseous fueling equipment and their operations (preferred but not necessary).
- PLC programming knowledge and troubleshooting (preferred but not necessary).
- You have experience with industrial equipment installation (preferred but not necessary).
- You are mechanically inclined.
- You are comfortable working with equipment rated up to 600V.
- Basic electrical and mechanical hand tools experience.
- Must have strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch, or be on their feet for periods.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as this position is based in a production plant.
- The work is required in the operation of machines that require the usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.
- This position may also result in exposure to outside elements.
SHIFT:
- We are looking for someone to work our day shift (Monday-Thursday, 6 am-430pm).
- After first completing 3-6 months of training on the Monday-Friday, 6 am-230pm day shift.

EDUCATION: Minimum of 3 years experience as an electrician.
