The Opportunity
The Peterborough Regional Health Centre is seeking two pathologists to join our Laboratory Medicine team. Located
in the heart of Ontario’s Kawartha Lakes, the 400-bed  PRHC features state-of-the-art resources in a contemporary
hospital, which opened in 2008. As a regional centre, PRHC serves patients in the City of Peterborough, as well as from
surrounding community hospitals, while also playing a vital role as regional hub for transfusion medicine services.

The laboratory performs more than 1.4 million tests per year in areas including histology, cytology, microbiology,
and other clinical laboratory areas. PRHC is currently looking for one General and one Anatomic pathologist
to join our group of 8 pathologists. Candidates will have certification in either General Pathology or Anatomic
Pathology. The candidate will be licensed, or eligible for license, to practice in Ontario.

The successful candidates will provide general surgical pathology sign-out with a focus on gastrointestinal,
breast, gynecologic, skin, genitourinary and other areas.

For the general pathologist position, protected time is provided for clinical oversight and experience as a medical
lead or laboratory director would be considered a bonus. Subspecialty training, particularly in molecular pathology,
would be considered an asset.

Position Qualifications
• Currently registered with or eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with physicians, laboratory staff, patients, directors, managers, and the community as required
