What You Offer:
- 1+ years of experience as an ECE in supervisory / managerial role
- CPR + First Aid certification (up to date)
- Good understanding of Yukon Guidelines and Regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead and inspire ECE team
- Genuine passion for guiding and supporting children
- Adaptability, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
Role Responsibilities
- To support children's interests through exploration, research, and play.
- To nurture children's needs and perform positive social-emotional and behavior guidance.
- Planning activities following Reggio-inspired + emergent curriculum
- Guide + assist children in personal routines: development of proper eating, dressing, + toilet habits
- Plan + maintain classroom environment that protects the health, security, + well-being of children. (Knowledge of regulations is required)
- Excellent communication skills: written + oral
- Implement programs to support + promote physical, cognitive, emotional-social development of children accordingly
- Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, + taking children to local points of interest.
- Provide opportunities to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, + physical activity.
- Assess the abilities, interests,+ needs of children, discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members.
- Establish + maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers + community service providers working with children
- On-going implementation all relevant policies and procedures of the centre
- Maintain full compliance with of the Yukon Child Care Licensing Regulations.
- Maintain on-going developmental records on each child (i.e. written observations & children’s portfolios).
- Communicate effectively all relevant information regarding children, families, the program and health and safety to staff team and Director
