Course Code and Title: LINB09H3F - Phonetics: The Study of Speech Sounds

 

Course Description:  An examination of physiological and acoustic bases of speech.

 

Lecture Section: Monday and Wednesday 15:00 - 17:00 

 

Course Enrollment (est.): 70

 

Number of Positions (est.): 1

 

Minimum Qualifications:   Ph.D. in Linguistics or similar area of study with a particular focus on phonetics.

Strong academic record and professional promise. Teaching experience is an asset. Teaching experience in the area of Phonetics required.

 

Duties:  All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments; calculation and submission of grades; holding regular office hours. This course will take place in-person at UTSC during the Summer F term (May - June).

 

Estimated TA Support (Hours): 65 hours 

 

Sessional dates of appointment: May 6, 2024 - June 30, 2024

 

Salary:

Sessional Lecturer I $9,457.90
Sessional Lecturer I Long Term $9,930.79
Sessional Lecturer II $10,121.77
Sessional Lecturer II Long Term $10,326.62
Sessional Lecturer III $10,362.76
Sessional Lecturer III Long Term $10,570.01.
