Senior Bookkeeper, St. John's, NL

Jump Recruitment Specialists has partnered with Corporate Accounting Services Professional Corporation Inc. in search of a full-time permanent Senior Bookkeeper for their St. John's location.

The successful candidate will be self-driven with the ability to engage with clientele. They must have a strong attention to detail, accuracy in data entry and be willing to take on various tasks to support a small team.

Training will be provided to the successful incumbent for approximately three months. The incumbent will work alongside the current Bookkeeper who is retiring in May 2024.

The Job

• Maintain financial records for various clients using Sage software
• Process payroll for diverse clientele
• Prepare and file client HST returns
• Prepare and file client payroll remittances
• Complete and file records of employment on behalf of clientele
• Develop and file T4's and WHSCC annual employer statements
• Other bookkeeping duties as required
• Welcome clients visiting the office
• Respond to incoming calls in a professional manner

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years experience as a Bookkeeper or Accounting Assistant
• Strong knowledge of QuickBooks, Sage 50 and Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to collaborate with other staff to resolve issues and meet deadlines
• Ability to work both independently and a member of a team
• Experience working in a public accounting firm is considered an asset
