Job description
This is a contract position for a UX Designer for our public sector client.
Work location: Downtown Toronto
Duration: Four Months
7.25 hours/day
This is a Hybrid role that requires the candidate to be onsite 2 days of the week (This is a mandatory requirement of the role and is non-negotiable outside of exceptional circumstances.)

Responsibilities
Create effective, user friendly and visually appealing interfaces.
Design the overall functionality of the product in order to ensure a great user experience, iterate upon it in accordance with user-testing.
Design user interfaces for various projects such as digital displays, publications, media, and other creative materials as required.
Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate the designs.
Conceive and conduct user research, interviews and surveys, and translating them into sitemaps, user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mockups and prototypes
Qualifications
Research Skills:
Experience in using many research methods including surveys, usability test, interviews, A/B testing, card sorting, analytics tools, etc.
The designer needs to decide which research method(s) is most appropriate for the goals and objectives of the project
Communication Skills:
Able to communicate effectively with different stakeholders including clients, developers and team members while ensuring the project runs smoothly
Problem Solving Skills:
Ability to create designs that solve real-world problems for their users
Experience testing and iterating problems through usability testing
Design and Software Skills:
Experience in leading the design of complex digital services from concept to production
Ability to create visually appealing designs that communicate a message, evoke emotions, and meet the needs of the users and the client
Basic understanding of coding languages including Angular and Springboot
