They are seeking a
Hydrogeologist to join their dynamic team, working on a diverse range of intriguing and challenging infrastructure and municipality-related projects.
Location: Calgary,AB (Hybrid)
Field: 40% - 50% (80% of that is remote travel, 20% local to Calgary)
Salary: $75,000 - $110,000 DOE, including benefits, pension plan, overtime.
Responsibilities: - Planning, organizing, and executing field programs, including collecting and analyzing field data from surface and groundwater sampling, water supply well drilling and water well design, borehole logging, and hydraulic well tests.
- Evaluating data and technical reporting of:
- Site characterization, water budgets, groundwater availability and quality;
- Groundwater monitoring;
- Dewatering;
- Groundwater-surface water connection;
- Source Water Protection Plans, Water Supply and Demand, and Watershed Management Plans; and
- Environmental Impact Assessments.
- Managing projects and/or supporting other project managers, including scope and budget management, scheduling and invoicing.
- Supporting business development efforts, including proposal writing.
- Communicating and coordinating with clients and contractors.
Requirements: - Undergraduate or graduate degree in geology or geoscience with a focus in hydrogeology.
- 5+ years of relevant work experience in a related field; preference will be given to candidates with consulting experience.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with technical and non-technical clients and contractors.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong time management and organizational skills.
- Experience working safely in remote areas and extreme environments and weather conditions.
- Proficiency with hydrogeological software used for technical analyses, data management and modeling.
- Familiarity with Canadian surface water and groundwater regulations and best practices.
- Professional registration (e.g. P.Geo. or P.Geol.) or eligibility to become registered within the next couple of years.
- Valid driver’s license (company vehicle provided for fieldwork).
