Job description

This is a contract position for a UX Designer for our public sector client.
Work location: North York
Duration: Twelve Months
7.25 hours/day
This is a Hybrid role that requires the candidate to be onsite 2-3 days of the week (This is a mandatory requirement of the role and is non-negotiable outside of exceptional circumstances.)

Responsibilities
- Design the overall functionality of key features within complex online services in order to ensure a great user experience
- Facilitate a variety of design-thinking activities and collaborative sessions to understand the problem a digital solution needs to solve
- Plan and execute user research to understand user expectations, behaviours and needs to inform design decisions
- Develop user personas, journey maps, service design blueprints, information architecture diagrams and other design artefacts as suits the needs of the project or product team
- Conduct research to ensure designs are aligned with industry best practices

- Translate concepts into wireframes, wireflows, low and high-fidelity mock-ups and clickable prototypes that illustrate the product's functionality and can be used for usability testing and user research
- Take a user-centred design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs
- Ensure designs are accessible, optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces, and aligned with the Ontario government’s design system
- Help to mature the organizations’ design and research operations

Qualifications
Familiar with using Axure for creating realistic prototype
Knowledge of how to design to meet WCAG 2.0 Level AA standards
Experience working in an agile environment
Experience designing for government or comparable solutions involving complex navigation and interactions
