Job description

Our client in the Waterloo, ON region has partnered with Randstad Engineering in their search for a Senior Civil Project Manager (Engineer or Technologist) to join their growing team! This role will include managing civil / municpail infrastructure projects, estimating, scheduling, coordinating work and ensuring the safety and productivity of each crew is maintained at the highest level.

Responsibilities
•Coordinate staff and resources
•Business development with existing and new clients
•Prepare project estimates
•Strong understanding of site and client-specific installation practices
•Ensures that constructed product meets approved design specifications and drawings
•Directs and supervises crews of Foremen, Journeymen, Operators, and Labourers
•Supervises operation of heavy equipment as required, which includes hydro-vacs and directional drills

•Understands municipal permits and permitting regulations
•Enforces safety compliance, including job-specific PPE and safe work practices. Able to communicate safety concerns/issues with owner.
•Assesses external and environmental factors and determines appropriate work plan
•Leads safety action plan in the event of an incident, completes incident reports as required
•Responsible for coordination of equipment malfunctions, ensures all safety and environmental compliance procedures are met and documented

Qualifications
•EIT, P. Eng or C.E.T. designation in the Province of Ontario
•6+ years experience in the Civil Construction Industry
•First Aid, WHMIS, Confined Space certification an asset
•Minimum Class G valid driver’s license
•Strong ability locating underground utilities
•Knowledge of concrete and asphalt restoration
•Knowledge of underground utilities
•Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
