Counsellor, Brief Counselling Program (Adult and Youth)

Direct Service – (OPSEU)

Full-Time, Contract (Approximately 12 months) 

St. Thomas, Ontario (Elgin Zone)

This is a front-line, clinical position providing intake, screening, assessment, referrals, and treatment planning in the form of structured and time limited counselling services for youth and adults experiencing addiction and/or mental health concerns. Counselling will be offered in an individual, one to one capacity as well as a group approach. The counsellor will provide virtual and in person services to best meet the needs of the individual seeking services. This split role will provide prioritized services to youth (6-12 sessions) and also support adults in the Brief Counselling Program (1-3 sessions).

Police Vulnerable Sector Check Requirements

Successful candidates must have a Police Vulnerable Sector Check completed in the last six months. Interested applicants who reside in the City of London and are in need of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) are encouraged to apply for one as soon as possible as PVSCs in the City of London are currently taking approximately 2 weeks to be processed and offers of employment cannot be made without receipt of a PVSC.
