We're on the lookout for a Commercial Officer with a passion for Defence! As a key member of our team, you'll be at the heart of supporting projects, building relationships with suppliers, and contributing to both domestic and international defense initiatives.
Actions can include negotiating NDA’s and pricing, as well as supporting from pre-contract to close out. This position follows a Hybrid working model with a mix of home and on-site, expectation of 2-3 days in office a week.
Pre-Contractual and Bid Opportunity Support Phase:
- Assist in the initial project phase by handling NDAs, bailment agreements, and collateral agreements.
- Guide the preparation of key documents like Teaming Agreements, Letters of Intent, Authorization to Proceed, etc.
- Contribute to Bid opportunity support by collecting data and conducting due diligence investigations.
- Play a role in developing major subcontract elements in the commercial response with management guidance.
Negotiations, Execution & Closeout:
- Analyze facts, negotiate, and manage changes and closeouts with supervision.
- Develop negotiation strategies, 'parameters,' and validate financial and legal data.
- Act as the company spokesperson on commercial matters, summarizing final positions with minimal oversight.
- Produce commercial summary reviews of program status using various sources.
Special Projects:
- Collaborate with internal departments, external partners, and vendors.
- Provide input on tools and reports for Supply Chain Management, potentially participating in their implementation.
- Support senior program staff in various management activities with oversight.
- Collaborate with other groups to enhance relationships, resolve issues, and contribute to the development of new processes and procedures
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and research abilities, detail oriented
- Excellent customer service in order to support client groups and key business decision making
- Deliver clear, concise and professional communications
- Hands-on experience with MS Office applications
- Post-secondary degree in Business Commerce, Law or other related field
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
