ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor in a team environment, the Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for the repair and maintenance of the building systems and equipment to achieve a high level of tenant and guest satisfaction.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform a variety of minor repairs and maintenance including painting, carpentry, and plumbing
• Perform monthly building and equipment inspections as per prescribed schedule and document findings
• Maintain good housekeeping and organization in maintenance areas
• Perform tasks to support marketing events including setting up and taking down displays and furniture
• Respond to tenant requests for services or information and ensure issues and concerns are resolved to the tenant’s satisfaction
• Monitor of computerized control systems
• Collaborate with housekeeping and Security teams to maintain a high level of property cleanliness and safety
• Willing to work afternoons and weekends as required
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Excellent guest service skills and experience working with the public
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Able to assess tasks and prioritize work
• Familiar with Occupational Health & Safety regulations
• Thorough knowledge of building components, including HVAC, mechanical and electrical systems, life safety equipment, and building envelope systems
• Intermediate computer skills (MS Office, BAS, and CMMS)
• Ability to work on elevated platforms such as ladders and scissor lifts
• Able to lift to 50lbs

Required Training and Experience

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on and related commercial property experience
• Refrigeration Safety Awareness Certification preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS

Based at The City of Lougheed located in Burnaby, BC, the successful candidate will be working both inside and outside throughout the year and can expect a supportive and collaborative work environment.

Salary Range: $55-62k/year
