It's grow time here at Aurora and we're searching for a motivated student (like you) to plant their roots with us in our 2024 Co-op Placement Program! In this placement, you will have the opportunity to work with our engineering and operations team on a series of projects, initiatives, and programs.

You will be based at our Bradford (River) facility and will have the opportunity to accept a 4, 8 or 12 month paid placementopportunity depending on the needs of your program. • Division: Operations/Science
• Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday
• Wage: Starting wage of $20 - 22 per hour plus + vacation pay
• Location: Bradford Ontario (students are responsible for arranging their own travel into the facility)

In this placement, you will…
Play a key role in Aurora's Innovation and Consumer Preference programs including, but not limited to historical data and trend analyses, key performance indicators and quality metrics monitoring, and trained sensory panel work. The Data Technician will be involved in hands-on sensory science programs and will help support a variety of data analyses and reporting. Daily activities will include data collection, data analysis, report generation, communication of results, preparation of samples, supporting sensory panel sessions, and sample logistics. The successful candidate will have exceptional organization skills, technical expertise, and will actively participate with colleagues to complete projects in a timely and effective manner.

• Carry out recurring daily, weekly, and quarterly data analysis and reporting
• Generate ad hoc data summaries, visualisations, and reports
• Improve and further automate data pipelines and key scripts
• Coordinate sample logistics for various projects
• Assist in sample preparation and logistics for sensory science work
• Other duties as assigned
  

You're the perfect fit for this placement if you…

• Are currently enrolled as a third or fourth year full-time undergraduate student in an accredited post-secondary sciences program 
• Have Experience with basic wet lab sample preparation
• Have Experience with univariate and multivariate statistics
• Have Experience with statistical analysis software and experience design
• Are highly organized and detail-oriented
• Are self-motivated, creative individual able to work well with others
• Have strong knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook)
• Have a minimum average of 70% cumulative GPA (we understand academics are challenging and therefore, we will be considering a combination of experience, passion and education beyond a GPA average when selecting our placement students)
• Will be returning to full-time studies in the same program following the completion of the work term or require the work term or co-placement to graduate
