Position Summary

Royal Inland Hospital (RIH), located in Kamloops, B.C., has an immediate permanent full time Physiotherapist opening.

Physiotherapists play a crucial part in providing assessment, treatment planning and implementation, program planning, consultation, equipment prescription and education to patients and/or their caregivers. Operating within a client-centered approach and as an essential member of our interdisciplinary team, you make a substantial contribution to promote functional independence and enable patients to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes.

RIH is a tertiary referral hospital and offers high-level, specialty medical care including core physician specialties, 24 emergency and trauma services, ambulatory and outpatient clinics, and diagnostic services. Specialty services include ambulatory psychiatry, elderly mental health, clinical nutrition, and lung health.

A Physiotherapist’s scope of practice may include Acute Inpatients (medical and surgical floors), Inpatient Rehabilitation, Outpatient Orthopaedics and/or Outpatient Neurological. Patient types will range from pediatrics to geriatrics, complex frail, medical and surgical. Services operate seven days per week. Most Physiotherapy positions rotate, which allows exposure to different areas of practice.

This position is suitable for a new graduate or a seasoned therapist. Orientation includes dedicated time for online learning of Interior Health processes, 1:1 time with the practice lead, job shadowing of all team members and other orientation or experiential opportunities identified by the employee.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the College of Physical Therapists of British Columbia (CPTBC).
• Valid BC Driver’s license where required.
