Skills and Abilities:
- Good written and verbal communication skills required.
- Must have the physical capabilities compatible with the current physical demands analysis for this position.
- Competency in phlebotomy and physical assessment.
- Ability to work with computerized records an asset.
- Assists with the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of resident care plans.
- Communicates with the Unit Manager and Registered Nurse; feedback both positive and negative regarding care delivery to ensure on-going improvement in the quality of care.
- Supports the multidisciplinary care approach through cooperation with all members of the health care team.
- Responsible to work within the scope of practice as designated by the College of Nurses of Ontario and within the standards set by Marianhill.
- Oral and written proficiency in English is required.
- Excellent attendance is essential.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario required.
- Current CPR certification required.
- Nursing Foot Care Level I and II required.
- Certificate from an approved Drug Therapy Program if graduated prior to the current curriculum, which includes the medication course.
- Certificate in phlebotomy required.
- At least two years’ experience in Long Term Care required.
- Experience in mental health and rehabilitation desirable.
- Membership within the RPNAO considered as asset.
Hours of Work:All Shifts
Rate of Pay:As per CUPE 2764 Collective Agreement, hourly $28.51-$28.97
