Job description
Our Finance team is looking for a new Accounting Manager
“There's a ton of potential in this role. You'll be joining our small finance team of six, with one to two direct reports. We’re a very transparent company and you will connect with all the senior leaders at the company regularly in our business partner meetings. Klue is a very collaborative company where we believe in the value that can be unlocked by sharing data insights across departments - you'll be getting a full picture of how a SaaS company on a rocketship trajectory operates!”
- \uD83D\uDC4B A message from Adrian Pape, Hiring Manager
Your purpose in this role is to ensure that the day-to-day operations of the Finance department are running smoothly and to oversee the workflows that generate the monthly financial statements. You’ll support business decisions by analyzing historic burn rate and maintaining accuracy in all company SaaS metrics. Provide clear and concise recommendations that incorporate all the department needs, and help support Klue’s vision for the next 3-5 years
This candidate must be based in Vancouver to work in a hybrid setting
What you'll do:
- Supervise and manage the organization's financial activities, transactions, and records.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Monitor and manage the organization's cash flow to optimize liquidity and meet financial obligations.
- Implement strategies for foreign exchange risk management, including hedging against currency fluctuations.
- Develop and monitor the annual budget to ensure the forecasted monthly burn rate is being achieved.
- Generate regular financial reports and present findings to department heads and stakeholders.
- Conduct financial analyses to provide insights into business performance, cost efficiencies, and areas for improvement.
- Establish and monitor internal control procedures to prevent errors and avoid financial risks or fraud.
- Implement measures to safeguard assets and ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Ensure adherence to financial regulations, taxation laws, and industry standards.
- Coordinate with external audit firm, preparing financial statements, and addressing engagement findings to maintain transparency and accountability.
What we're looking for:
- You see the big picture and can bring it all together. This shows up in understanding: how all the departments and initiatives fit together, second-order effects of how decisions in one department might impact another, the full month-end financial statement cycle, the different stages of company growth, and what is needed at each step.
- You have attention to detail, but know where to make judgment calls based on materiality to the business based on the capacity of work hitting the team.
- You're articulate and crisp in your communication skills (verbal & written).
- You’re a creative problem solver and no roadblock or challenge will get in your way. You work towards finding a solution.
- Proven experience leading accounting, operations, and/or finance functions.
- You’re motivated and ambitious. Nothing feels better than getting sh*t done.
Bonus points:
- SaaS interest (even better if you have prior experience in SaaS)
- Data visualization skills
Total compensation & benefits:
- Time off. Take what you need. We want the team to prioritize wellness and avoid burnout. Vacation usually falls into 3 categories: recharging, life-event, & keeping a work-life balance. Just ensure the required work gets done and clear it with your team in advance. You need to take at least two weeks off every year. The average Klue team member takes 2-4 weeks of PTO per year.
- Work-life integration: Hybrid work model, flexible working schedules, and a global team.
- Benefits start on day one!
We gather compensation benchmarking data across the BC & Canadian Tech Industry and use that data to build a range for our current team and future talent. Your exact salary is determined by experience level, skill, capabilities, whether or not you select options, and internal pay parity
If you feel like this role is a great fit and have questions about comp, get in touch and we’re happy to discuss further. There is always an ongoing conversation around compensation

Lastly, we take potential into consideration. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of the specifics listed above. If you know you have what it takes, even if that’s different from what we’ve described, be sure to explain why in your application. Reach out and let’s see if there is a home here for you now or in the future
We’ve made a commitment to support and contribute to a diverse environment; on our teams and in our community. We’re early in our journey; we've started employee led resource groups, committed to Pay Up For Progress, and use success profiles for roles instead of 'years of experience'. We continue to scale our efforts as Klue grows. We’re proud to be an equal opportunity employer and have dedicated that commitment to our current and future #kluecrew. During the interview process, please let us know if there is anything we need to make more accessible or accommodate to support you to be successful
All interviews will be conducted via video calls. We work in a hybrid model of WFH (remote) and in-office. We’re excited to meet you and in the meantime, get to know us:
