LOCATION: This position will be based out of our Whitby office location but will be supporting projects in the Port Hope area.
SALARY RANGE: $21.00-$24.00/hr

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
You will demonstrate your technical knowledge in the field, and work towards implementing practical and effective solutions for clients. Your role will involve conducting field assessments, collecting samples, and supporting Project Leads in the preparation of reports.
JOB DUTIES
- Collection of soil samples during drilling, test pitting and excavation activities
- Monitoring and collection of groundwater samples utilizing a wide variety of equipment
- Experience with groundwater pump and treatment systems
- Supervision of drillers and other contractors
- Operation of various types of field monitoring equipment (e.g. hand augers, handheld XRF, GPS, data loggers, survey level, combustible gas meters, etc.)
- Completion of field documentation such as project field reports, field notes, borehole logs, and laboratory chain-of-custody forms
- Assists with report writing and ensures their work is completed with accuracy and precision
- Generally works under the supervision of senior staff, project coordinators/managers
- Committed to health and safety procedures and practice
- As required, contributes towards project completion in a technical capacity
- Equipment calibration, maintenance, and repair
- Provide technical support and mentor junior field staff, as required
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate
- Travel and shiftwork may be required in all seasons and weather conditions
Job Requirements: - Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree or College diploma in a related field
- 0-3 years’ experience, preferably in a consulting environment
- Outstanding organizational and communication abilities
- Superior technical skills and attention to detail
- Experience analyzing environmental sample data and reporting results to regulatory bodies and stakeholders
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills
- A valid Class 5 well license would be an asset
- Desire to succeed in a dynamic, progressive organization
- The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills with fluency (reading, writing and oral) in English
- Valid Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle
