Unit Summary
Peri-operative Services at the Juravinski, General and McMaster University Medical Center sites of the Hamilton Health Sciences, encompasses all aspects of surgical care, pre-operatively, intra-operatively and post-operatively for both adults and children, and the Medical Device Reprocessing for all sites. The program further supports the Acute Pain Service across the 3 sites. With over 26,000 surgeries annually, on both an inpatient and outpatient basis, the Peri-operative Program focuses on innovation in treatment, academic health professional training and collaborative research.
The role of the Medical Device Reprocessing Technician involves decontamination, reprocessing and preparation of all reusable medical and surgical equipment, specialty supplies, instrumentation, procedure and surgical trays. Performs other duties as assigned.
