Englobe is on an exciting growth path and we are currently seeking an Intermediate Structural Engineer to join our talented team at one of our locations within the GTA.
Your Contribution
- Manage various structural engineering projects for a variety of clients.
- Plan and execute projects in accordance with company and client guidelines and standards.
- Achieve budget, quality, and schedule compliance on assigned engineering projects.
- Responsible to advance and understand project requirements related to current development standards, specifications, and guidelines.
- Perform structural site investigations/inspections and reviews, gather data, and prepare technical reports, site review/inspection reports and compliance letters.
- Perform Structural Condition Assessments incl. reporting.
- Manage and/or generate deliverable documentation (i.e., drawings & specifications) for structural projects which requires accuracy in calculations and/or completeness of data.
- Develop construction cost estimates and be familiar with industry construction costs
- Coordinate project requirements between the client, structural team, and other disciplines.
- Review contractor's submittals and shop drawings
- Prepare formal professional service proposals.
- Participate in project and client meetings.
- Coordinate discipline and subconsultant activity on projects.
- Contract administration during construction including attending all site meetings, meeting minutes, and processing contractor progress estimates.
- Report on project status and complete billing.
- Maintaining and building client relationships.
- Conduct site inspections and visits.
Your Profile
- Registered as a professional engineer with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO);
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structural Engineering.
- Possess a minimum of 5 years relevant experience post-education. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Knowledge and exposure of all relevant Canadian building codes, standards, and regulatory requirements (OBC/NBC, CSA Standards, etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to produce well-written reports and technical specifications.
- Ability to effectively and efficiently problem-solve, tackle new assignments and multi-task in a busy work environment with an emphasis on attention to detail.
- High level of integrity and work ethic.
- Ability to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment.
- Ability to focus and work on multiple projects.
- Ability to provide mentorship to junior staff.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout Ontario (incl. remote areas);
- Ability to work nightshifts.
