About Our Opportunity


We’re hiring a Corporate Strategist to lead future focused policy and program analysis in areas of workforce planning and development, including training, tools, and employer support. This individual will work collaboratively to lead strategic planning, develop priorities, and lead policy development for initiatives that address employment recruitment, participation and retention including the need to embed inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility in workplaces across Nova Scotia.

Reporting to the Director of Workplace Initiatives within the Skills and Learning Branch, this individual will lead a small team to oversee and participate in on-going projects with various provincial departments, other levels of governments, organizations, and the private sector to ensure government policy and programming responds to the needs of Nova Scotia employers and their workforce. 

 

Primary Accountabilities


As Corporate Strategist, you will be accountable for:

Qualifications and Experience


This position requires a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience and a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field (such as public administration).

You will have experience in research, policy analysis, strategic and business planning and oversight, project management, and reporting. You have a background in policy and public administration, research and evaluation, economic analysis, and report writing, with the ability to understand policy, communicate and report complex files with clarity, and provide sound policy advice at a high level. 

You will have demonstrated an ability to develop and maintain constructive relationships and successfully lead teams. Its important that you demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and oral, when presenting complex ideas and the ability to adjust communication methods to suite a variety of audiences. You’ll also have demonstrated effective management of human and financial resources.

Working Conditions


Most of your time is spent in a comfortable office setting. You will have daily contact with the public, various Government Departments as well as other local Agencies and Institutions. Your normal work week is 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day.

 

Additional Information


This is a 2 year TERM employment opportunity with anticipated end date of December 13, 2025 . The appointment status (‘term’, ‘temporary’ or ‘casual’) is dependent on the start date of the successful candidate.

 

What We Offer

 

 

Pay Grade: EC 12 

Salary Range:  $3,561.95 - $4,452.43 Bi-Weekly
