We are searching for a Manager, Financial Reporting to join our Finance Team based in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

About the Opportunity

• Lead the on time and on quality preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements and statements of cash flow
• Lead the preparation and delivery of the annual audited financial statements for the division
• Lead the on time and on quality delivery of annual special reports required by Government.
• Supervise, direct, and evaluate the work of the team; including professional development, monitoring and managing performance, providing coaching as needed.
• Collaborate with finance managers on monthly income statement reviews, revenue growth strategies, and budget development as required
• Assist in the transition of financial reporting systems and processes to support company growth
• Support year-end audits by coordinating and providing auditors with requested information in a timely manner
• Support the Financial Controller to manage and optimize the financial reporting close process
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, seeking always to be best in class for financial reporting processes and practices

About You

In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting or Finance
• A CPA designation with 3-5 years’ experience in a related role
• Minimum 3-5 years experience in a similar role with leadership accountability
• Strong computer literacy including advanced working skills in Microsoft Office
• Thorough technical knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE).
• Experience with Great Plains and Yardi software considered an Asset
• A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care.
