GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The incumbent is responsible for receiving the incoming product and ensuring it is labeled in accordance with regulatory requirements, recorded in SAP, and stored in the appropriate area. This position requires a customer-focused candidate with strong organizational and communication skills.
The candidate selected for hire will train on the day shift and then move to the evening shift and or night shift based on the needs of the business. You must be willing to work days, evenings, and/or night shifts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure completion of the necessary paperwork for shipping products and/or receiving material.
- Completion of all necessary paperwork and computer transactions involved in the Receiving and Storage of Products from Suppliers.
- Liaise with purchasing to address vendor complaints.
- Operation of pedestrian pallet truck, order picking truck, and forklift in compliance with established safety operating procedures.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area and perform duties in a manner that promotes safety and compliance with all regulations.
- Participate in daily tier meetings and monthly safety meetings.
- Follow safe work procedures and practices.
- Recognize and report hazards.
- Attend health and safety meetings.
- Participate in training, audits, and inspections.
- Comply with legal duties and Tremco safety policies and procedures.
- All employees are liable under the Criminal Code of Canada as well as the Occupational Health and Safety Act to take every reasonable precaution in the circumstances for the protection of workers.
EDUCATION:
- Some High School (from grade 9 to grade 11).
EXPERIENCE:
- 0-2 years of Shipper Material Handler experience required.
- Must have experience operating a forklift.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Experienced fork truck operator.
- Proven ability as a strong team player.
- Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
- Computer knowledge would be an asset.
- Able to operate in an area where there is heat, noise, dirt & dust.
- Must be willing and able to work in a multi-shift environment, specifically 2nd or 3rd shift.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external contacts.
BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION:
- The hourly rate for applicants in this position generally ranges between $ 23.90 to 26.03 This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, operations, needs, and other considerations permitted by law.
- SHIFT PREMIUMS: Afternoon: 10 pm to 6:15 am $0.80, Night: $1.10.
