Organisation: Northumbria Chamber Choir
The Northumbria Chamber Choir (formerly Sage Gateshead Chamber Choir) is looking for a new accompanist for our rehearsals. Our current and excellent accompanist, Josh McDade,will be moving on to pastures new at the end of the summer term, you can read about Josh’s experience accompanying the choir below.
Our rehearsals are held on Mondays from 7-9pm at St Luke’s Church, Claremont Road, Newcastle upon Tyne. We also hold an ‘Away Day’ once a term, usually on a Saturday. Ideally we’d like someone to attend for about half of the 12 rehearsals each term, weighted towards the first half of the term. There is an option for the person to join the choir to sing at other times and during rehearsals when not needed and also the possibility of performing as a soloist at some of our concerts.
The right person needs to be:
Payment: we are offering £45 per 2 hour session and £65 for an Away Day.
Recruitment process: we will ask candidates to come along for an hour’s try-out at one of our rehearsals, after a conversation with our Musical Director, Denise Stout.
