Position Description
Title: Process Engineer - Junior

Position Purpose
The Process Engineer - Junior will plan, direct, and coordinate the manufacturing processes in the Plant by applying engineering principles and SPC methodologies to improve the operation.
Principle Accountabilities
- Monitor and improves manufacturing methods.
- Owning day to day product trouble shooting and recovery processes.
- Develop, implement, and monitor waste reduction programs.
- Analyzes workflow, develop process flow diagram and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Optimize and analyze products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
- Confers with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
- Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
- Collaborates with the R&D department to develop, organize and report on R&D trials as they relate to process improvements.
- Reviews and makes recommendations to improve flow of materials and improve current information systems in the extrusion department.
- Related tasks as requested by supervisor
Essential Skills and Experience
- A chemical or mechanical or industrial or electrical engineer with polymer science or polymer manufacturing experience and knowledge of HDPE, PP, LDPE and LLDPE.
- Registration (or eligibility to be registered) as an Engineer in Training (EIT)
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Power Point)
- Expert skill level in Microsoft Office Excel; solid works and CAD
