Position Summary

Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, the Pharmacy Charge Technician will be responsible for overseeing and supporting the principles of the Quality Assurance Program and coordinating the daily operational activities of Pharmacy Technicians and Assistants related to medication management. They will continue to perform all duties as required for a Licensed Pharmacy Technician. The hospital’s pharmacy department is one of the most advanced in the region featuring PAC Med, unit-dose distribution system with supporting Automated Dispensing Units in various locations.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Technician (R.Ph.T) license with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
• Minimum 5 years hospital experience as a Pharmacy Technician
• Leadership experience is considered an asset
- Experience with unit dose distribution, CIVA, purchasing and inventory management, narcotic regulations, pre-packaging/manufacturing procedures
• Excellent work performance and attendance record required.
• The successful candidate will have a proven commitment to professional development as well as to the Mission and Vision of the Hospital. Demonstrates proficiency in written and verbal communications skills in relation to working with patients across the care continuum.
