Manager, Web Development- Canada

We are seeking a talented and experienced Manager, Engineering in Canada to be a key player on the Web Engineering team within Digital Marketing. You’ll lead our web development team in building a cutting-edge website using NextJS 14, Sanity v3, TailwindCSS, and deploying on Vercel. In this role you will:

• Lead and inspire a team of skilled engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation
• Oversee the end-to-end development lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
• Enforce coding standards and best practices, conducting regular code reviews to maintain high-quality codebase.
• Foster collaboration between cross-functional teams, including design, product management, and QA, to ensure seamless integration of components.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, promoting individual growth and career development
• Develop websites using latest tools including NextJS 14, Sanity v3, TailwindCSS and Vercel, ensuring scalability for a global audience

You’ve got what it takes if you...

• Bring 6+ years of professional web development experience with deep expertise in NextJS, React, Typescript and TailwindCSS
• 1-2 years of experience in a leadership role with your current technical expertise
• Strong understanding of web accessibility guidelines
• Experience with browser-based debugging and performance testing software.
• Experience developing and implementing front-end architecture to support both content editors and developers
• You have been part of an agile development team and favor open communication
• Experience optimizing applications for performance including core web vitals and technical SEO best practices
• Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
• Consideration for privacy and security obligations

Extra dose of awesome if you have...

• Experience with headless CMS platform (bonus points for Sanity specifically)
• Demonstrated leadership ability with a strong capacity to mentor other less experienced developers
• Good project management skills
• Knowledge of testing frameworks including Cypress and have implemented testing automation
• Team-oriented and value collaboration.
• Ability to influence project stakeholders with a demonstrated track record of building consensus and delivering results
• Keep updated with the latest advancements in browser technologies and APIs
