Senior Accountant/Controller

Job description
Our client sources and manufactures products for the personal care industry. They are looking for a CPA to oversee all financial management for the company. Duties will include operations support with insurance, mineral claims registration, SRED and government filings. Need a person who is comfortable being hands on with the support of two staff.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all aspects of finance and accounting such as banking, financial reporting, accounts receivable and payable, payroll, inventory control, foreign exchange, budgeting and forecasting, coordinate audits (company and government audits), etc.
- Supervise two staff who handle the payroll and general accounting.
- Work with Department Managers on various projects as required
- Handle human resources issues as required
- Review, negotiate and maintain various insurance policies. Handling insurance claims as required
- Responsible for all mineral titles and mineral claims registration and renewals
- Oversee all governmental regulatory filings, such as GMP, Site License, QAI, etc.
- Monitor, support and oversee sub-ordinates’ job duties
- Monitor and order office equipment, furniture, etc. in a cost effective manner
- Monitor and in charge of SRED project
- Review product costing and prepare pricing information for President for contract negotiation
- Prepare and issue sales contracts, distributorship contracts, manufacturers’ agreement and various contracts as required
- Responsible for all information technology related issues
Qualifications:
- CPA Designation
- 5 years’ experience in a management role
- Manufacturing industry experience with costing required.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication
- Strong leadership
- Syspro or other ERP
