Reporting to the Vice-President, Replenishment & Supply Chain Administration, this role is responsible for turning data into information and insights that support business decisions with the purpose of achieving the Farm Boy’s vision, maximizing sales, and enabling the strategic growth of the company. The performance of the duties must ensure a quality service approach to all employees, customers and suppliers. All responsibilities must be performed in a manner consistent with the Farm Boy Way.
Major Responsibilities:
- Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
- Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
- Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain database systems.
- Identify, analyze, and interpret business trends or patterns in complex data set.
- Filter and organize data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems.
- Prepare business reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing operational information and trends.
- Conduct and coordinate product, market, operational and related research to support business planning within the various departments of the business.
- Create informative and operative reporting that highlights relevant business patterns and opportunities for improvement.
- Own and deliver ad-hoc data requests and analytics; effectively managing timelines and prioritizing work.
- Conceptualize, create, maintain and report on a variety of subjects pertaining to various aspects of the business.
- May be required to undertake other related duties on a periodic basis.
- Typically requires completion of a post-secondary education in Business Administration and or/ Data Analysis plus a minimum of 2 years of Data/Business Data Analyst experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- In-depth technical experience with data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.
- Strong working knowledge and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc.), databases (SQL etc.), programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks).
- Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc.).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disperse significant amounts of information with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in report writing and presenting results with a superior standard of quality.
- Clear and effective communication style, both written and oral.
- Solid knowledge of retail industry and food products.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining priorities and a high level of performance.
- Fluency in English and French shall be considered an asset.
Work & Sensory Environment:
- Providing service to several people or departments, working under many simultaneous deadlines.
- Performing extensive and repetitive data entry.
- Sitting for long periods of time at a workstation.
- Possible exposure to eye strain from computer terminals.
