In your role, you will
- Support the Vice-President, Legal Services and two senior lawyers in various corporate legal functions, allowing you to be exposed to a wide variety of corporate legal issues;
- Participate in the writing, analysis, approval and negotiation of various commercial agreements such as service agreement, corporate guarantees, financing, mergers and acquisitions and banking and treasury operations related agreements;
- Find solutions to legal issues raised by employees of various departments and provide support with implementing these solutions;
- Provide support on corporate reorganisations and on mergers and acquisitions projects;
- Ensure that the activities of the Company are conducted in accordance with applicable laws, Company’s policies, good governance and business practices;
- Ensure adequate follow-up on various files submitted for analysis and recommendations.
As our ideal candidate
- You have a bachelor's degree in law
- You are a member of the Quebec Bar
- You have at least 2 years of relevant experience in corporate law, ideally with an international company or a major law firm
- You have strong writing skills and are at ease communicating in both English and French
- You distinguish yourself by your rigor, autonomy, initiative
- You have a great ability to deal with competing priorities and high level of stress
- You demonstrate good business judgment
- You have well developed analytical and synthesizing skills
- You work well in a team environment and are well organized
