Job description

We are seeking a qualified leader to join our team as a Plant Manager situated at our 120,000 sq ft facility in Etobicoke.
The successful candidate will train and work alongside various members of the production, operations, maintenance teams and responsible for indirectly overseeing approximately 50 employees in the plant on the day shift and 15 employees on the afternoon shift.
The ideal candidate will have a strong vision and focus for continuous improvement in areas of operations and health and safety, as well as excellent teamworking, problem solving, and communication skills.
Qualifications - Post-Secondary education required. Operations Management, Manufacturing, Business Management, or related field is preferred.
- 5-10 years of proven work experience in a management role in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
- In-depth understanding of systems and production processes, maintenance, equipment, production planning, and quality standards.
- Basic understanding of Ontario safety regulations and/or experience on a Joint Health and Safety Committee is a strong asset.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities - Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and adherence to safety standards. Assist with immediate concerns when required.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, improve efficiencies and reduce costs.
- Coordinate with maintenance and production teams to ensure the proper functioning and upkeep of machinery and facilities.
- Implement corrective actions and process improvements to enhance quality and consistency.
- Promote a safety culture by enforcing policies, procedures and training programs.
- Assist supervisors and the safety department in accident investigation when required.
- Provide leadership and guidance to various personnel, while providing coaching and feedback.
- Assist in developing annual budgets, by forecasting labour, supplies, overhead costs.
