Job Summary TECH Hub (Teaching Enrichment and Community Hub) is an educational outreach and community-focused hub based in the Faculty of Computer Science at Dalhousie University. It is responsible for extensive extra-curricular programming geared towards creating pathways to education and opportunities for understanding how computer science impacts our lives. Reporting to the Assistant Dean (Academic Outreach), the Program Coordinator will be responsible for all aspects of the design, development, logistical planning, execution and evaluation of all TECH Hub programming and events.

Key Responsibilities Work collaboratively with the Assistant Dean (Academic Outreach) and partners to develop a robust program portfolio including the development of new programs and activities.

Research opportunities and make recommendations on potential new offerings.

Connect with known school partners and school liaisons to create TECH Hub’s and establish a consistent means of communication to further develop those relationships and identify new potential connections to expand the program.

Support the planning of outreach events through the coordination of communications, schedules, venue, catering, and supplies for all the attendees, which include members of the TECH Hub student outreach team, schools, students, teachers, sponsors, and all other invitees.

Represent TECH Hub at relationship building events (networking events, conferences, student engagement activities, etc.)

Support the Assistant Dean (Academic Outreach) in administrative tasks, such as program budgeting, data collection and management, etc.

Note The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.

Required Qualifications Undergraduate degree with one to three years experience in a similar role (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).

A high degree of organizational skill, interpersonal acumen and problem solving ability is required to provide oversight in balancing the many responsibilities related to this role.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, and an enthusiasm for working with students.

Must be able to work both independently, as well as part of a team, and be proactive.

Due to the travel to outreach events, a valid Nova Scotia driver’s license is required.

Assets Demonstrated event planning and marketing experience.

Experience developing connections in the educational or tech sector within Nova Scotia.

A proven interest and understanding of trends and needs in computer science.
