Job Summary: Industrial Tooling Solutions Inc. is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our state-of-the-art manufacturing and grinding facility in Waterloo, Ontario. As a CNC Machinist at Industrial Tooling Solutions, you will play a crucial role in the production process of our manufacturing and grinding tool products by setting up and operating 5-axis computer numerical control (CNC) machine tools to cut, grind, or shape metal, plastic, or other materials with precision.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of Industrial Tooling Solution’s machines, equipment, procedures and techniques used to produce manufacturing and grinding tools effectively and safely;
- Set up and operate 5-axis CNC grinding machines to effectively perform precision machining operations that produce high quality tool components;
- Utilize Windows based software for CNC machines to calculate dimensions and tolerances that measure and mark out workpieces accordingly;
- Operate 5-axis CNC machines that perform non-repetitive surface, tool and universal grinding operations;
- Analyze blueprints, charts, schematics and engineering drawings to discern the machining processes required to build high quality manufacturing and grinding tools;
- Maintain records of measurements made during the preparation and manufacturing of tooling components;
- Maintain a working knowledge of Industrial Tooling Solution’s quality control procedures to routinely perform basic inspections and ensure optimal performance;
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and optimize processes;
- Assemble and inspect completed manufacturing and grinding tool products using precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy and adherence to specified requirements;
- Adhere to safety protocols which include maintaining a clean and organized work area; and
- Other duties as required.
Minimum Skills Requirement:
- Completion of secondary school is required;
- Completion of a trade certification program, apprenticeship, or college program in machining or other related disciplines is strongly preferred;
- At lease two years (2) years of prior work experience as a CNC Machinist is required;
- Prior experience using MS Windows and SolidWorks’ software is required;
- Previous experience operating CNC machines using Anca or Walter is a strong asset, but not required;
- Must have close attention to detail, in addition to effective communication and teamwork skills.
