Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Planning Manager, the primary role of the Senior Demand Planner is to oversee the sales forecasting process that guides the planning of production and distribution of our finished products, as well as the purchasing of our raw materials and consumables. The incumbent will be required to communicate and collaborate closely with the management team, sales, customer service, finance and marketing departments. This role will involve managing a sales and operations plan (S&OP) in collaboration with the heads of the above departments.

In addition, this role will require assistance in the implementation of a new ERP system. The ideal candidate will have experience with MRP/ERP systems and a sound knowledge of forecasting, planning and supply chain processes.

A day in the life:

Your day begins with an excellent opportunity to interact with your colleagues near the coffee machine. Once the chat is over, depending on your priorities, you focus on reviewing forecast adjustments and key metrics, especially forecast accuracy. You spend the morning analyzing data such as sales and inventory levels to refine forecasts and identify trends or sales behaviors that may differ from those predicted. With all the information you have found, you collaborate with members of the sales and planning teams to gather and share insights that will help build even more accurate forecasts. Then, taking into account the information provided by the planning team, you develop a strategy to include certain factors to consider for items in specific locations and update the data. The day ends with documenting useful information and preparing data or reports that will set the stage for a successful start to your next workday.
