SE Health is at the forefront of integrating health care solutions with housing to create age-friendly and affordable living spaces. This summer, we are seeking a master's student with a passion for making a difference in the housing sector. The intern will contribute to the pre-development phases of our projects, focusing on creating sustainable, accessible, and community-centric housing solutions.
Position Summary
We are looking for a master's student from urban planning, real estate development, community development, sustainable development, or construction management programs. The intern will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of housing through research, stakeholder engagement, partnership development, and project management, incorporating sustainable and innovative practices.
Responsibilities
- You will have the opportunity to work on and support our team with a range of exciting projects. Responsibilities will be matched with assigned projects (the following are some examples):
- Contribute to the planning and development of age-friendly and affordable housing projects with an emphasis on sustainability and community needs. This may include assisting with site identification and review, needs assessments, financial modelling, community engagement and additional planning studies.
- Engage with stakeholders and develop partnerships across sectors to support housing initiatives.
- Conduct literature reviews, environmental scans and prepare reports focusing on best practices in urban planning, real estate development, and sustainable construction.
- Support grant and proposal preparation to advance affordable housing projects.
- Apply knowledge from academic studies in urban planning, real estate, community development, sustainable development, or construction management to real-world housing projects and thought leadership.
Requirement:
- Currently enrolled in a master's program in Urban Planning, Real Estate Development, Community Development, or Sustainable Development.
- Demonstrated interest in housing, particularly in creating solutions that are sustainable, affordable, and community-focused.
- Strong research, analytical, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
