Manager Airside Safety Escort Program.

Job description
We are rapidly evolving our business at YVR, and we are looking for a seasoned and motivated Manager Airside Safety Escort Program.
Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, the Manager will be responsible for site operations which include working closely with and communicating effectively with the Airport Authority Engineering team, Project Managers, Construction Contractors, the Airside Operations team, and others as required to develop and fulfill projections for escort services demand.
The Day to day
- Coordinate with the Airside Safety Escort Operations Coordinator to ensure that sufficient levels of trained and certified escorts are available to fulfill the airside operational requirements at any given time.
- Liaise with Airport Authority's operations and engineering staff, as well as the various contract service providers, to ensure that airside projects satisfy all operational safety and security requirements.
- Ensure staffs maintain mandatory and regulated training and certifications in accordance with legislation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
- Labour Management includes but is not limited to Hiring, Onboarding, Union and Negotiations, employees, and discipline.
- Oversight and Implementation of Training programs.
- Management and Oversight of the Security Shift Supervisors.
- Safety and Security Compliance Management
- Provide guidance on aviation safety and security matters ensuring compliance with regulation, legislation, and company specific policies.
Here's what you need:
- University Degree and/or College Diploma or certificate in Business Management.
- At least 5 years of experience as a manager in an operational setting involving the management and supervision of staff.
- Experience in working with a Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Experience in an operational setting involving the management and supervision of a large team.
- Strong management and leadership skills together with excellent communication, influencing, negotiating, and business acumen.
- Demonstrated attributes in leadership, judgment, decision making, delegation, and interpersonal sensitivity.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and problem-solve using analytical skills.
- Experience in making proactive decisions and effectively communicate upcoming staffing or service challenges
- Experience in making difficult decisions related to service delivery and ability to adjust scheduling and operational demand to meet shortfalls in staffing levels
- Experience with writing procedures, drafting reports, preparing business cases and compiling data.
Need to have.
- Valid Class 5 BC driver's license with clean driver's abstract
- Valid Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC) or ability to obtain
- Valid "D" AVOP and/or Ability to Obtain
- Proven experience in creating and managing reports, using Excel and other reporting tools
- (optional) Valid BC Security Licence or ability to obtain
- (Highly recommended) experience in aviation environment or a passion for aviation combined with experience in the construction environment
