Job description

Scope of Services:

Based in Conakry with regular trips to Winning Consortium Simandou (WCS) Mine, Port and Rail project sites, to identify and manage all social related risks of the Simandou Project, to provide capacity building to on-site community relation teams according to the project standards, especially IFC Performance Standards and Equator Principals IV, to organize the supervision, internal auditing and reporting, to manage the Sustainable Development Department social team, to improve the social performance of the project and ensure compliance with Guinean laws and the project standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and manage all social-related risks of the Simandou project, including but not limited to subjects of stakeholder engagement, land acquisition and compensation, resettlement and livelihood restoration, community health and safety, community development programs, culture heritage, human rights, gender, etc.

• Review and update social-related management plans and action plans separately according to Mine, Rail, Port ESIAs, and ESMPs.

• Provide operational leadership in the areas of social-related areas, and ensure the correct implementation of social management plans by on-site teams through technical support, guidance, training, and coaching.

• Improve the social performance of all components of the project through optimizing procedures, forms, reporting mechanisms, setting up and fine-tuning KPIs, internal auditing, etc.

• Engage and liaise with external stakeholders such as local authorities, NGOs and CSOs, competent bodies and communities, external auditors, and business partners.

• Build, manage, and develop the Sustainable Development Department social team by setting clear and measurable objectives.

• Management of social-related activities of all ESIA consultants, field-related or remote.

• Assess, prepare, and deliver social training tools, including sessions to all staff, on-site community teams, and contractors regularly.

• Database establishment and management.

• Other tasks and missions assigned.

Reporting:

· Report to HSSEC Senior Manager and in coordination with team of Sustainable Development (Based in Singapore and Guinea), as oversight by VP HSSEC.
