Job description

Stedman Community Hospice is seeking a caring and compassionate Kitchen Aide to join our team. Our 10-bed residence gives people who are living with a palliative diagnosis the opportunity to live with dignity and comfort in a place that feels like home. As a member of the Stedman Hospice front line support team, this role will oversee the effective functioning of the Hospice kitchen. This role supports and coordinates the efforts of Hospice volunteers dedicated to the kitchen. The focus is on planning, maintaining and guiding the preparation of food resources so that a selection of meal options are available to patients on an ongoing basis. Guided by St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre Brantford’s Mission, Vision and Values, the team works to improve the quality of life for those whom we are privileged to serve.

Term : Six-month contract position from March 18, 2024 to September 16, 2024.

Based on 25 hours per week, including evenings and weekends

Reporting to the Community and Volunteer Engagement Coordinator and working as a member of the hospice team, the Kitchen Aide will be responsible for:
