Primary Objective: 

Responsible for the aspects of meeting department Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost objectives.  Will provide daily support to the production team.  Strong focus on ensuring that the assigned production line meets quality and delivery targets.  Will maintain and develop the necessary specifications and process documentation to both sustain and improve the process.  Will use engineering skills to troubleshoot problems to root cause and put countermeasures in place to prevent re-occurrence. 

Major Function and Scope:

• Responsible to ensure that the department meets safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets.
• Performs hands on and remote support to the operations team.
• Uses engineering problem solving skills to troubleshoot quality and production problems to root cause with limited supervision.
• Implements solutions to prevent re-occurrence of production and quality problems.
• Maintains and develops necessary process documentation and specifications to continually improve the process.
• Identifies, defines, and measures improvement opportunities by analyzing production data.
• Responsible for identifying and executing cost saving projects in the department.
• Provides daily/weekly production reports to track and improve targeted areas.
• Performs new and existing equipment startups and learns to operate manufacturing lines.
• Communicates effectively with all team members in the plant (forklift drivers, operators, technicians, managers, etc.)
• Completes initial training to operations on any developed SOPs or processes.
• Complies with all company safety rules and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Experience, Competencies and Supervision:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 2+ years of work experience as a Production, Process, or Manufacturing Engineer in an automated manufacturing environment.  –  Knowledge or experience with Six Sigma and Lean desirable.

Other Pertinent Job Information:

Ability to travel as required (international).  Must be able to walk long distances, climb on machinery and stand for long periods of time.  Bending, crouching, and stooping may be required.  Must also be able to work in non-climate-controlled facilities.  Work environment is a noisy, dusty, high traffic manufacturing production floor.
