Hospitality Teammate/Server (part Time)

Job description
Reporting directly to the Manager of Hospitality, the Hospitality Teammate is responsible for providing bar and food service while nurturing an excellent guest experience within the RA’s Fieldhouse Lounge and Outdoor Sundeck and other hospitality spaces located throughout the RA Centre facility.
DUTIES:- Greet guests in a friendly and timely manner,
- Be knowledgeable of and be able to adhere to all food and beverage license regulations,
- Maintain a tidy workspace and environment,
- Accurately input orders through POS system in a timely manner,
- Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and serve a light menu fare,
- Set up and re-stock bar inventory and supplies while maintaining efficient levels of beer, wine and liquor,
- Maintain a clean and safe working area,
- Perform end of duty cleanup duties according to RA standards, and ensure next shift is set up for success,
- Effectively communicate with team and offer support as required,
- Be knowledgeable of the RA, it’s facilities and services and be able to direct clients to the proper facilities or services,
- Inform guests of promotions and contests,
- Create positive, shareable experiences!
QUALIFICATIONS: Education:- Minimum high school diploma
Certifications:
- A valid Smart Serve certificate is essential,
- Proof of up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination status is essential; and
- A valid Police Check for vulnerable populations, or proof that one has been requested is required.
Experience: - Minimum one year experience in the food service industry in a fast-paced environment.
Skills:- Ability to work calmly and effectively in a fast moving and changing environment,
- Enjoys working with people and finds fulfillment in assisting others,
- A team player who understands the importance of and is supportive of each member of the Team,
- Is able to take direction or work independently, as required,
- Able to comfortably serve multiple tables and large groups.
- Is able to use technology to process orders and payments including POS systems, pin pads and debit machines,
- Possesses good verbal and communication skills and the ability to interact well with clients,
- Proficiency in written and oral English is essential, and in French an asset.
- Must possess basic computer knowledge and the ability to communicate by email,
- Must be able to adapt to a flexible schedule requiring availability for day, evening, weekends and/or holiday shifts. Maximum of 24 hours per week.
Physical Requirements:- Be able to comfortably balance and carry trays for food and beverage service between 2 and 15 lbs,
- Be able to twist, bend, crouch and possesses the mobility required to lift items from floor to overhead,
- Be able to squat, lift and carry up to 45 lbs (average case of beer); and
- Be able to climb stairs, walk quickly and stand for a minimum of 4 hours
