Halifax Regional Municipality is inviting applications for the permanent, full-time position of Diversity & Inclusion Advisor - Gender Services with the Office of Diversity and Inclusion in the Chief Administrative Office. Preference will be given to candidates who self-identify as African Nova Scotians and Other Racially Visible Persons, Women in occupations or positions where they are underrepresented in the workforce, Indigenous/Aboriginal People, Persons with Disabilities and 2SLGBTQ+ Persons. Reporting to the Managing Director, Diversity and Inclusion/ANSAIO, the Advisor, Diversity & Inclusion provides strategic advice to all parts of the organization (Corporate and Council) on policy development needs; direction and recommendations on integration and alignment; and participates in special projects/initiatives. The Advisor will support the implementation of the Corporate Diversity and Inclusion Framework, including organizational policies, processes and procedures to improve the delivery of municipal services to diverse communities.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience:
Please note – Testing may be conducted as a component of the selection process to assess technical and job specific knowledge. Candidates, who are selected for testing, may be tested in a group setting, scheduled at the employer’s discretion. Interviews, testing, and in-person recruitment activities are being conducted in adherence with current COVID-19 Public Health protocols.

HOURS OF WORK: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week. However, work outside these hours is required to engage with the community (i.e.: attend meeting, consultations, etc.).
WORK LOCATION: Purdy's Landing Suite 301A, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion
SALARY: NU8, Non-Union, $81,810-$112,510. Salary to commensurate on education and experience.
