The Toronto Star has a vacancy for a Full time Digital Producer in the Editorial Department. The role will be focused on newsletters as part of the Digital team.

Email newsletters are a pillar of our digital subscription business. In this role, you’d handle most of the Toronto Star’s newsletters and help improve those you don’t handle yourself. You’d work with our small dedicated Newsletters team figuring out how to best serve an audience that keeps growing, and a larger team within the newsroom that creates, packages, enhances and promotes Star journalism so that it makes a meaningful impact on our community and beyond, whether on thestar.com, our newsletters, mobile app, social media or other platforms, both existing and emerging.

The ideal candidate would be a gifted diplomat and experienced digital editor, as skilled at working with copy and CMSes as they are with people. You’d have high but realistic standards and be determined to get the best from the reporters, columnists and editors who produce work on this platform, and you’d push to keep raising that bar.  You work quickly, thoughtfully and collaboratively.

This is a notice of vacancy under Article 8 of collective agreement between Toronto Star Newspapers Limited and Unifor Local 87M. The hours of work for this position will vary according to the assignment, but will all conform to a standard 35-hour work week as described under the collective agreement.
