Job description

JOB SUMMARY:
A Systems Test Support Technician should be proficient in the use of electronic equipment and tools, and working in an electronics laboratory. Responsibilities include creating harnesses, assembling electrical and mechanical sub-assemblies, soldering, circuit troubleshooting and be part of engineering team through product development and integration phases.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Systems Test Support Technician will work within the Engineering Department as assigned by the Systems Manager. Tasks will include:
- Reviewing Electrical, Electronic, and mechanical drawings
- Creating and modifying AutoCad Drawings
- Creating Wiring harnesses, this will include crimping pins and soldering pins
- Trouble shooting Electronic circuits
- Assembling Electronic and mechanical assemblies
- Soldering of Electronic Circuit Board Assemblies
- As part of a team, managing the Tooling crib, signing out equipment, collecting equipment
- Collecting calibration equipment and updating calibration records
- Assisting Engineering teams with Testing, reviwing testing, creating testing documentation
- Assembling Build Kits for harness and tester builds
- Working as part of a team.
- Communicating and collaborating with other team members to resolve complex technical problems

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

- College, CEGEP or Associate diploma in Electronics or related field
- Proficiency in using electronic equipment and tools
- Computer skills in MS Office Suite
- AutoCAD/Solidworks experience an assett
- Must be eligible to meet requirements of CGP (or ITAR if required by a project)

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics
- Proven experience as an Electronics Technician or similar role
- Strong knowledge of computer systems and MS Office Suite
- Proficiency in using electronic equipment and tools
- Ready to learn technological updates related to computers and electronics
- Strong Verbal and written communication ability
- Attention to detail required
- Ability to lift heavy equipment (about 60 lbs)
- Experience in an electronics manufacturing environment and familiarity with IPC-A-610 & J-STD-001 standards considered an asset
- Previous experience with the operation of precision automated equipment an asset
- AutoCAD/Solidworks experience an asset
- Familiarity with IPC-A-610 & J-STD-001 standards considered an asset
