Our past and current projects have included but not limited to: municipal street reconstruction, culvert replacements, new construction site preparation, chipping, grading, grubbing, floating, crushing, street sweeping & snow removal. We also provide many specialty services for our customers based on individual needs. Due to expanding business demand, we are currently looking for a qualified Junior Operator to join our team. Job Duties: • Estimate the cost of materials, labor, and equipment for construction projects from contract bids, quotations, drawings and specifications. • Utilize take-off procedures. • Decide how the tendering procedure will work, recommend tenders, and conduct negotiations. • Keep track of costs and money spent during a project. • Prepare and maintain directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors. • Liaise, consult and work with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates. • Manage and co-ordinate construction projects. Requirements Experience: Civil, Commercial construction or Industrial construction. Education: College or University Credentials (certificates, licenses, memberships, courses, etc.): Membership in the Professional Corporation for Estimators. Essential skills: • Speak, write and read English. • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications. • Have a detailed and comprehensive knowledge of construction and construction methods. • Have strong planning and organizational skills. • Use computer spreadsheets and databases as well as estimating, take-off, and scheduling software. • Good communication both internal and external.
