Job description


We are looking for a   Quality Management Specialist join our Clean Energy team. Reporting to the Project Director, you will join a team of professionals at our Halifax location where we offer you a Hybrid Policy work option.

 

Please note that this is a term position with an expected end date of December 31, 2027.

 

The Quality Management Specialist will be responsible for the development and implementation of the Quality Management Plan and System as well as coordination of support services for the portfolio of projects under the Eastern Clean Energy Initiative. The portfolio includes Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), 345 KV Transmission NS/NB Intertie and Renewable Energy Integration Systems (generation).

 

Specific Accountabilities include:

• Develop and maintain Project Quality Plan, Surveillance Programs and other quality procedures and tools and ensure their successful implementation across the project
• Interface with Project team to provide Quality input to project plans
• Provide quality input to contracting strategies and specify requirements in proposals (e.g. RFP’s)
• Participate in evaluations of Contractor proposals and perform quality audits of facilities as required
• Manage the oversight of Contractors’ quality-related activities and deliverables confirming adequacy of Contractors’ plans, procedures and processes
• Coordinate appropriate PT review and approval of Contractor’s and Suppliers’ quality deliverables (e.g., plans, Criticality Ratings, Inspection and Test Plans)
• Provide direction and guidance to quality inspectors for QAQC activities
• Provide feedback on quality-related issues and metrics (NCR/CARs, Audit execution, etc) to Project Management and support effort to resolve same
• Develop and execute audit schedule of Contractors, Suppliers and PT; lead PT audits and participate in Contractor audits as appropriate; develop database to capture and track findings to closure
• Develop database to capture and track all project Non-Conformance Reports/Corrective Action Reports (NCRs/CARs) issued by project and contractors, review trends and opportunities for improvement and sharing across the project.
• Steward audit findings to resolution and closure in a timely manner
• Interface with Startup / Operations to ensure clear understanding of project quality and participate in turnover as appropriate
• As a part of the PMT proactively manage all health, safety, security and environmental programs to support the culture of a “Zero Incident Mindset.”
