Job Status: Full- Time
Compensation: $65,000-$85,000 annually plus comprehensive benefits package

SUMMARY
As a key member of the DWF team, the Curriculum, Content, and Lesson Plan Development Lead will play a pivotal role in the planning, development, and implementation of Indigenous-specific educational programs. The successful candidate will contribute to the strategic development of DWF programming, ensuring alignment with the needs of educators and communities on the journey towards reconciliation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the strategic development and use of online tools, ensuring their compatibility with the needs of educators and communities
- Develop, implement, and oversee lesson and content creation for the Legacy Schools and assist in the creation of the Learning HUB
- Work with the Education team and the Education Advisory Committee and recruit qualified consultants/researchers for material creation and evaluation
- Collaborate with Communications and Marketing to ensure technical soundness, security, and performance of online delivery tools
- Oversee all Legacy Schools educational resources and tools in collaboration with the Legacy Schools Coordinator and the Associate Director
- Support Legacy Spaces content development in collaboration with the Development team
- Ensure Legacy Spaces programming is properly supported by the Learning Hub
- Explore and implement options to better connect Legacy Schools, Legacy Spaces, and communities (e.g., the Learning Hub)
- Represent DWF at conferences and be available to speak at outreach engagements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary diploma/degree in education or equivalent education in management or program development with experience in Education
- Five plus years of extensive and successful experience, such as K-12 education leadership, curriculum development, and/or administration experience
- Demonstrated understanding and experience working with Educators and Communities
- Demonstrated expertise in project development and management
- Strong understanding and appreciation for Indigenous culture, traditions, and practices
- Experience with online teaching/learning methods and programs a definite asset
- Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational/time management skills with an ability to plan, define measurable objectives, outcomes, and meet timelines
- Demonstrated ability to influence and build relationships with community leaders and representatives
- Ability to travel within Canada throughout the year
- Experience working with Indigenous people and communities and knowledge of Indigenous cultures
- Working knowledge of MS Office, internet, and general office equipment
- Current Police Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening is required
Preference will be given to:
- Candidates with lived experience of Indigenous cultures and heritage
- Working knowledge of Indigenous traditional languages or French
