Job description

We are currently looking for an individual to join our client, one of Canada's largest insurance and financial services companies, as an Internal Communications Manager. We are looking for an individual who can drive and deliver engaging communications strategies while providing communications support to the business. We're looking for someone with previous experience in the insurance or financial services industry. A strategic thinker who can communicate across various digital channels and is interested in a truly differentiated experience that empowers you to do meaningful work, grow and learn.

In this role you will work full time hours on a 12 month contract supporting the Markham location ( Hybrid role minimum 2 days a week in the office, subject to change as the business requirements change.)

Responsibilities
• Crafting coordinated/engaging communications strategies to connect to its people compellingly.
• Working cross-functionally to create an effective narrative and build the company story, leveraging communication channels to ensure this narrative is well understood.
• Supporting the business strategy and performance communication.
• Playing a pivotal role in supporting the production of the companie's live stream broadcast program – All Access (including use of studio equipment for filming).
• Providing internal counsel and project support for key business leaders, advising on delivering internal communications for various special or business-as-usual projects.
• Partnering with Group Communications ensures best practice sharing and support of global communications initiatives.
• Supporting and championing the channel strategy, ensuring recommendations are rooted in insight and analytics.

Qualifications
• Postgraduate degree in Corporate Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or Journalism
• Demonstrable communications experience (ideally in the insurance industry, professional services, and financial sector)
• Writing, proofreading, and editing across a variety of platforms (bilingual is an asset)
• Develop internal communication/employee engagement strategies to maintain and strengthen company culture.
• Skill/diplomacy in dealing with people at all levels of the organization
• Ability to work as a great teammate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, SharePoint and industry-standard tools
• Ability to prioritize tasks based on relative importance and urgency
• Works well under pressure and can effectively/professionally handle challenging issues in a complex, matrix organization
• Strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate with professionals at all levels within the organization
• Keen to learn, grow and develop
