Are you a dynamic and ambitious Nurse-in-Training? Cheshire is currently seeking BScN students who have successfully completed their 1st and/or 2nd year(s) of study to provide in-home Personal Attendant Services to individuals with disabilities and high-risk seniors. Your employment with Cheshire will provide you with paid orientation, mentorship, and ongoing training experience that will enhance your knowledge and skills in the Health Care field.

Cheshire focuses on ‘Person-Centered’ support by empowering our consumer to tailor their care to their own unique needs, interests, requests, feelings, and preferences. This allows our Personal Attendants to gain a variety of skills through opportunities and learning experiences when providing assistance to our consumers.

Cheshire Benefits

- Starting rate of pay $21.28/hr + applicable government pandemic subsidies ($3)

- Compensation for travel time and mileage reimbursed at $0.43/km

- Part time, casual or full-time available based on your availability!

- Dress code is comfortable and casual but respectful to our consumers. Scrubs are optional but not required!

- Potential for career advancement opportunities and continued employment (weekend-only positions available during the school year, ability to secure/return to position next summer)

- Paid job training, development opportunities, emergency first aid and CPR (re)certification training.

Qualifications

- Confirmation of enrollment in BScN program; applicants must be entering year 2/3/4 or have completed the university or college program

- Available for summer employment (April 1 – August 31); flexible start date

- Ability to work a variety of shifts including mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends

- G or G2 license and regular access to a reliable private vehicle

- Valid automobile insurance

- Current and negative Police Vulnerable Sector Check (or able to acquire)
